BB From the Florida Keys Writes “Wonderful Purchase”
I love the HAAN FS20 floor sanitizer! No more messy bucket and mop that just pushes the dirt around! In addition to our home, we have a vacation rental home with ceramic tile floors. With the HAAN floor sanitizers, floors are easy & fast to clean, dries fast, super clean and sanitary. Cuts cleaning time in half. Now I know the floors are as clean as the rest of the house, and our guests always appreciate a clean home with spotless floors. Thanks HAAN for a great product to make cleaning easier!”
Pros: It’s high quality, effective, quiet, reliable, easy to use, met my expectations.
Cons: The only con is that you can’t get behind the toilets.

Bethany Cleaning Maven from Miami, FL says “Gotta Love this Steam Mop”.
I just got this HAAN steam mop (HAAN FS20 Steam Mop), which is more than a mop if you buy the short handle attachments. Not only can you clean your floors but you can kill dust mites in your rugs, sanitize counter tops and even take spots off your upholstery.
I got this HAAN steam mop primarily for my tile floors where husband and kids make a career out of spilling things, never thinking to wipe them up while the mess is still soft. So we have congealed food stuffs all over the kitchen floor. We also have a smooth top electric stove which I have had a problem getting really clean without scratching the surface.
The steam mop heats up fast and you know it’s ready as the steam starts coming out of it. I reckon it took about 5 minutes maybe less. The microfiber pads are wonderfully huge and help get the job done fast. My kitchen floor was as clean as a whistle in no time flat and what little water was on the floor seemed to dry almost instantly.
Using the short handle, my stove top became clean at last and without the dreaded scratching. I did run the steamer over the carpet with the carpet attachment to tackle dust mites, but more importantly, to sanitize the rug which the baby crawls over and puts her head into goodness knows what every day. I think this will become part of my weekly cleaning routine as it is so easy to do.
The steam mop is nice and lightweight and does not take up make room in the closet. All in all, I think it is a really useful cleaning tool and I can stop moaning at my husband and kids for dropping food all over the kitchen floor since clean up now got a whole lot easier.

So your vacuum cleaner is on its last legs and you wonder how you can afford a new one at a price which will not break the bank? Then read on.
You have no idea of how many famous maker vacuums are sent packing from our testing department since so many Hepa vacuums are still badly designed and spew out allergens into the air while vacuuming. The Airextreme managed to impress David, our vacuum cleaner gate keeper, who declared that this vacuum is worth much more than its price tag.
Apparently Eureka agrees and this vacuum is going to go up in price soon and reemerge under the Electrolux label. But you can buy it now at its super low sale price. I cannot believe that a good vacuum at this price point includes not only a power head but a nice soft floor brush and a handheld turbo brush for pet hair. It’s a little jewel and I would snap one up if you need a vacuum in a heartbeat.

It takes a lot for us to add any air purifiers to the web site, let alone our catalog, but we are impressed at several of the Alen Air Purifiers for their affordability, while still offering a good quality product. In particular, the Alen A350 at $399 delivers six air changes covering about a 300 square foot room. These air purifiers are perfect for someone who primarily wants to control allergens during the upcoming allergy season, as their carbon mesh panel will not do any serious odor control. However, for an air purifier which does allergen controls at a very competitive price, we think these are worth taking a look at.

A little bit more on Haan floor sanitizers from last newsletter as I am continuing to use mine on a regular basis in between my more extensive steam cleaning chores. Read all the Haan Customer Reviews on the FS-20 model one which I own. Our customers love them! Besides being a nifty and swift chemical free clean up tool for my kitchen floor, the optional carpet tray is for sanitizing carpets, which to you and I mean killing dust mites in the upcoming spring and summer season. Pet owners will also appreciate its deodorizing properties on carpets. I really do recommend Haan floor steam sanitizer as an addition to your cleaning closet (starting at $89.95).

Ever stared balefully at that spot light in your cathedral ceiling and know you want to change the light bulb, but you do not fancy either standing on a 20ft ladder or paying the local handyman anywhere between $25 to $45 for changing that single bulb? So if you are like me, you let it go until a few more have gone out and you are creeping around in semi darkness? Then when several lights are out, you can justify calling in a handyman. And do not think compact fluorescents are the answer. Most of them do not live up to expectations and I have found many of them only last a few months instead of years as advertised. This is where the LED light bulb comes into its own. It is 10 times more efficient than regular incandescent light bulbs and 5 times more efficient than compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs). What’s more since they last for 50,000 hours or more, once you have paid for that handyman to change those cathedral ceiling light bulbs, you will not be changing those LED light bulbs any time soon, probably not for 10 to 15 years, and that suits me just fine.
Starting at $18.99.

I bought myself a soda and seltzer maker for Christmas and I am happy to report that it works like a charm! I chose the less expensive Fountain Jet Soda Maker model in black and silver at $89.99 and it now adorns my counter top in the kitchen. I use it every day since I drink at least a liter of water on a daily basis. I did find the instructions a little sparse and it took me a while to figure out that the easiest way to screw the empty bottle into the machine is to do it while the machine is tilted outwards at 45 degrees and not on the vertical. Once I had figured out the obvious, I was good to go. The soda maker will have paid for itself in about 2 months, saving me hundreds of dollars every year.
Starting at $89.99 and available at GreenandMore.com

We own some rental properties and last week my husband arrives home and said we needed a new water heater in one of them, and he has authorized a firm to install a new one at $1750.While I leave my husband to manage our property this time I interferred. I reminded him that I had just installed a Tankless Water Heater system in the condo I maintain near our offices with great success and for a great deal less money. He came into the Boston area recently and inspected this new marvel in person. He had actually been using it for weeks without even knowing it, and I pointed out to him that his long showers no longer ran cold and my electricity bills were less since the tankless installation. Needless to say, this is what is now being installed for our tenant- and they are thrilled at the prospect of saving on their energy bills. And since a tankless hot water heater system will last for about 20 years, I know that is one complaint I will not be dealing with again. The savings in the initial purchase and installation is about $500.
Starting at $379.99.

Periodically my cleaning lady cannot resist buying a bottle of Windex, and I have a nutty because I have mild MCS (multiple chemical sensitivity) and also hate the odor of chemicals. So I have stocked up on our new EcoDiscoveries line of eco-friendly, non-toxic cleaning products, and for now my cleaning lady and I seem to have made peace. I would advise getting their introductory whole house kit and trying all the products in their line up and save on shipping. One of the brilliant things that they have done is ship the bottle empty and give you a little bottle of concentrate which actually makes two whole bottles - you just fill up with water. So you actually get two bottles for the price of one. You can get the refills at anytime and be good to the environment. And all their products work just as well as the supermarket chemical ones- but without the health hazards. I give this brand two thumbs up.
Available as a complete cleaning kit (now on sale for $52.95, or sold individually starting at $9.95 for a bottle).

Given that I have been recovering from an injured back, I was looking for an exceptionally lightweight sweeper to pick up crumbs, sand, and other debris tracked around my kitchen and den. I had been resisting lugging the vacuum cleaner out from the closet leaving it to my cleaning lady to handle - and in the meantime, I could hear crunchy noises beneath my feet as I walked around. The Germ Guardian UV-C light cordless sweeper did not disappoint. It picked up all the muck on my kitchen tile floor and adjacent hardwood floor in the den, and it did so quickly and effectively without back strain. It is also did a pretty good job on a couple of thin cotton rugs. Emboldened by that, I tried it out on cat hair on the chocolate velvet couch, but this is where it met its match and needed the hand turbo brush which comes with my Sebo vacuum. So the cat hair awaits the cleaning lady. When it came to emptying the container which while ample was filling up fast, I was momentarily perplexed - as usual I left the office without a manual - as to how to open the container to dump out the dirt- not really a task recommended for the allergy sufferer in your house. This time my husband came to the rescue and said “pull” and then of course I could see how easy it was. Duh! So all in all I am as pleased as punch with this little addition to my house, which I can pull out at a moment’s notice and clean up and not strain my back. So I liked it and am now giving it permanent house room.
Starting at $59.95 and runs for 30 minutes on a full charge.
