Hello Keith,

My recommendation would be for the unit to be replaced. If you have already tried replacing the cap and it is still allowing to much water to flow into the reservoir causing it to overflow the unit should be exchanged.

Please contact our customer service department to set-up an exchange for the unit. Go to http://www.allergybuyersclubshopping.com/cgi-bin/contact.pl
and complete the contact form. Notate the reason for contacting us from the drop down menu as (Returns, Exchanges, and Refunds.

Sincerely,

David

You will know that your cartridge needs replacing when the waterflow from the container into the reservoir decreases. Also, if you start to notice white mineral dust in and around your humidifier this would be another indication the demineralization cartridge is in need of replacement.

A good water filter may reduce the maintenance somewhat but only if you use water without minerals such as distilled or Reverse Osmosis treated water would you see a significant decrease in the required cleaning maintenance.

There is no real way to determine whether or not the silver ionic stick needs replacement. It is recommended that one replace it every 12 months.

One can use white distilled vinegar to clean the mineral deposits from the base of the humidifier.

The pulp free lemon juice will work as a decalcification agent.

I hope this answers all of your questions.

Sincerely,

David

A few questions about maintenance.

How do I know if my cartridge needs to be changed? I'm not sure how long the humidifier was used before I got it, but it looks essentially brand new. I use a water filter and I know the previous user did as well, but it's not reverse osmosic or distillation. Does that still reduce the maintenance required?

Is there any way to tell when looking at the humidifier if it needs a new cartridge? Ditto with the silver stick.

Is there any other products that can be used to decalcify besides the EZcal? I use pulp free lemon juice as a decalcification agent on my coffee machine. Will that work? Or some other product I can purchase in Canada? (I don't think you ship to Canada).

I love the unit but it LEAKS the cap that connects to the ionic silver filter allows to much water to be released and then over flows I can send it back and wait but this is the time I really need to use it I just got another cap after 3 tries and 3 months but it leaked within a hour of using. I ask to talk to the supervisor they said he or she will call later? The customer service rep told me that even Mercedes Benz's break But at Mercedes they lend you another car while they fix yours

We had Air-O-Swiss for two seasons, it is still very quiet, this is what we like the most.

After a few months, we found that "white dust" build up in the area where we put the humidifier even we clean it once a week. Situation has not been changed after we changed the EZcal.

I purchased the high end airoswiss in October, my first purchase from this catalogue. By November it was giving me a message that I needed to fill it, even when it was full. I tried cleaning it, replacing the round white thing (of which I had bought an extra 80 dollars worth) and nothing works. Two weeks ago I called and received a number to either expedite me sending it back or the company sending me another one and then me sending the first one back. When I called this Monday, the operator said wait to hear. My husband called again on Thursday and at least I know they have received all the paperwork they requested to be faxed.

So far, while, when it worked, it certainly gave out more moisture than my CVS model.

Hi Christi,

The Air-O-Swiss 7135 ultra-sonic humidifier purchased from us is one of the best humidifiers we have carried over the years. The best thing about the product is how well it humidifies a room while at the same time being extremely quiet. However, the quality of the water used in the unit will vary the frequency of the maintenance. Normally, one can get by with cleaning once every 1 to 2 weeks and changing the demineralization cartridge once every 2 to 3 months. Of course, depending on how hard the water you are using in the unit is will affect the changing frequency. However, one can elect to use reverse osmosis or distilled water which will void out the need to use the demineralization cartridges all together and at the same time lessen the frequency of cleaning. The EZCal decalcification cleaner is available to periodically clean any mineral buildup that can occur in the container and the reservoir base. Once or twice a month is all that is necessary on the average but as I already stated the frequency can increase if the water you are using is hard with a high level of minerals. All in all, this product does not have a high level of maintenance compared to a great deal of the humidifiers out in the market place. I hope this explanation is helpful.

Sincerely,

David

Christi,

Additionally, please be aware that Air-O-Swiss humidifiers are good products. The issue is the quality of the water going into the unit which is why maintenance is so important.

Also, AllergyBuyersClub.com has a competitive returns policy which is similar to many retailers: 30 days from date of purchase. You purchased your product in May of this year.

We have built a successful business based on the principles of selling quality products supported by responsive customer support.
